Last Day at the Market..For Awhile!

It is my last City Market on the Green for a little while. Sweet Mama surgery is on Tuesday in Atlanta. We leave on Monday and pick up LB at the Atl Airport. He stays until Thursday and hopefully Sweet Mama can come home Friday or Saturday! Her surgery is the first case Tuesday...Cinco De Mayo. ( Her last surgery at Emory was on Tax Day and before that St Patrick's Day...what's up with the holiday surgery?!) I glad that it is first because that way we can get it over with and start the healing process. But that means we have to be there at 5:50 a.m. It is going to be a long day!!

We had a good day at the Market today. Red went with me as Sweet Mama has a horrible cold! (She was a lot better when we got home!) It was so windy!!! I had to rethink the display because things kept falling over. The rain held off until this afternoon which was good. I f it rains and the car is not close we will have a mess...lots of wet aprons!!

For those of you who are wondering who will be minding the store while I am gone...it's Precious! I have given her all the details on how to ship out all Mother's Day items! So don't let that stop you from placing your order now!! Oh, and another thing...if you want to know what I am adding new everyday...just look to the right of this post (top right corner) and you will see my Esty Shop photos. These are of the most current items I have added (the 1st 3 are of the ones I have featured for the week!) You can easily keep up with the shop here! The apron I have posted here is my newest, Breath of Spring Vintage Inspired Ruffle Apron! I love it! Don't you?! Thought I would sell right off but nooo... You never know what people like!

I will be posting updates on Sweet Mama all next week. Please keep her in your prayers!

I am on a Treasury on Etsy!

I am so excited! I made it onto another Treasury List on Etsy! This apron "Mom's Roses" is listed on a Mother's Day Treasury List. There are 12 items listed in this treasury. For those of you who don't know what a treasury is, it is a listing posted by Esty members of items they like that are for sale on Etsy. Great advertising for the shop! There are all kinds of treasury listings but each only lasts for a couple of days. It is always changing. There are thousands of sellers on Etsy with millions of items to choose from. But I was chosen!! It is a big deal in my little world! I am so proud!
This list expires Monday April 27 at 1:52pm EDT

I went to the City Market on the Green in downtown Macon today. Boy was it hot! Feels like summer already...not April! Sat there and watched as people walked by... and bought nothing from me!! I even had the above apron there...but no one cared. They were just there for the produce and plants!! I have one more weekend and then I will be unable to participate for a while. Sweet Mama's surgery is May 5!

So, hot and tired, I get back home, check the Etsy shop site and, SURPRISE, I am on a treasury!! The day got instantly better!! :)

Finally Friday!

Yeah! It's Friday! Tomorrow is Opening Day of City Market on the Green in downtown Macon! We are having a ribbon cutting, exhibitions, and a steel drum band perform! The Market runs from 9 am til 1 pm. The photos here are from December. Can you tell that it is freezing cold? I can still feel it...
Will take some pics tomorrow and show you the fun!
After the Market I am going directly on a mini vacation...literally we are driving out around 1pm! We are going to Asheville! I think it is about 5 hours away. Going to see the Biltmore House, the fancy Mickey D's and then going on a memory lane tour of Brevard College and the mountains! Can't believe college was so long ago! On the way back home we are going to Greenville, SC to Lander University. My mom graduated from there 50 years ago and my niece got accepted today!! Her mom went there too! Should be a lot of fun! Gottta get t-shirts! Will post pics from vacation in later post.

Rained Out Market

So here I sit, at the crack of dawn...(or maybe before... it's dark) Watching the Weather Channel, hoping that the rain wasn't coming. But as I type I hear thunder! The radar is a lovely color of reds and yellows... They say we are going to have a busy weather day..hail, tornadoes, damaging winds! So that means the City Market on the Green is off.
Today is the last weekend of the Cherry Blossom Festival. It runs for 10 days in Macon with all kinds of events. Today was to be the big street fesitval. Our weekley market was to be like a fringe event for both weekends. We had a lot more people last Saturday than we had last winter. I just started the market last November and December when it was nice and freezing! Believe it or not, we had people show up..must have been for all those last minute Christmas presents!
So now it is Spring...and it is raining...maybe I'll go back to bed!

Cherry Blossom Festival Market

Boy! Am I tired!! We had a good day at the opening of The Cherry Blossom Festival! It was a beautiful sunny day but a little windy. You should see my face. I don't know if it is sunburn or windburn or both! I have lovely Raccoon Eyes from my shades!

There were a lot of people walking through and looking. The City Market on the Green is not officially open until April 4 but we took advantage of the The Cherry Blossom crowd to boost knowledge of our Market. Hopefully they will remember that we are there every Saturday until December 19 (9-1) It wasn't until 11ish that we started to sell! But because of the crowd, most of us decided to stay later than 1. I'm glad I did because I doubled my sales!

Right by the end of our area, at 2pm, there was a Cherry Blossom event - Lawn Mower Racing. They said these guys were professionals... I didn't know it was a sport. It was a little loud. Hard to talk to customers. But at least I had customers!!

Next weekend we do it all again! Hopefully it will be a beautiful spring day again..but this time I will have sunscreen and a hat!!
